British Columbia Day

There are many different provinces in Canada and these different provinces have their own history and culture. It only makes sense that they would have their own holidays that are celebrated mostly in their own province only. British Columbia Day is another one of the many Canadian holidays that is only observed in select provinces. It is typically only celebrated in the British Columbia province. It is a holiday that is designed to celebrate the local achievements in this community and to praise the people that are doing god in British Columbia. It is observed locally and not everyone in Canada takes part in British Columbia Day.

How is it Celebrated?

Since this is a local holiday, it is celebrated within the British Columbia. There are localized events and festivals that are held in honor of this day. The whole point of this holiday is to bring people together in the community and to inspire pride in what has been achieved so far. It is a very popular event, but this is only the case for the province of British Columbia. Similar holidays exist in other provinces under different names, see Civic Holiday.

Legal Holiday

This is a holiday that is only a statutory holiday in British Columbia. Most people get a day off of work and school for British Columbia Day.
