Victoria Day 23 May

This is another holiday that is traditionally celebrated in Canada. This means that it is a holiday that is typically only celebrated and marked for significance as a Canadian Holiday. This is a holiday that is reserved for celebrating the birth of Queen Victoria. This means that it is a big celebration and a holiday that has a lot of meaning. It is time that you learned a few fun facts about Victoria Day that is celebrated on the 23rd May.
Here are some fun facts about Victoria Day:

Not Celebrated by All Provinces

Just like most holidays, it is not celebrated by all. This means that only six of the ten provinces in Canada actually celebrate this holiday each year. There is a day that is similar to this holiday and it is known as Patriots Day, but it is a holiday that is separate from Victoria Day. Quebec is one of the Provinces that does not celebrate Victoria Day but does celebrate Patriots Day.

Not Her Actual Birthday

It should also be noted that even though this holiday is reserved for marking Queen Victoria's birthday, it does not fall on her actual birthday each year. it is reserved for the last Monday before the 28th of May. So whatever day this falls on is when her birthday is remembered that year and this year it just happens to be the 23rd of May.

Who Was Queen Victoria?

Queen Victoria is celebrated with her own day because she was the longest sitting Queen in power throughout history. She was a queen for about 64 years This means that she reigned over the people of Canada for over 60 years and is now celebrated in history with her own day that is known as Victoria Day.
